Vegan Cuts July Snack Box Review

I have to say I was unimpressed with this selection of snacks. I wasn’t really too excited about many of the products, and was unimpressed with the amount of protein snacks. These snacks were so disappointing that I couldn’t even pawn two of them off on anybody else. That’s how bad they were. I’ll stop bitching and just let you read my thoughts on all the individual products.

D’s naturals the no cow bar chocolate fudge brownie

This smells exactly like chocolate laffy taffy so already not off to a great start. When I took a bite out of this it very briefly tasted like chocolate laffy taffy and then the overwhelming powdery sensation began. It tasted like I took a straight spoonful of chocolate protein powder with a bad aftertaste. I took one bite and forced Alan to eat the rest because I couldn’t stomach anymore of it. This is honestly one of the worst protein bars I’ve ever tried.

Peach Smoothie Bowl Recipe

Jordanna HarrisVeganize It blog0 Comments

Peaches are the best. Do I need to say anything else? Okay I probably do. I love peaches in every fashion, but the way I’ve been enjoying them the most lately is in a smoothie bowl. I eat a smoothie bowl almost everyday and because peaches are in season I’ve been throwing them into and on top of my smoothie. Basically, this whole recipe is peach related, but honestly what could be better than that? I think I would be happy eating this every morning.

Ingredients:

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1 1/2 cup frozen peaches
  • 1/2 – 2/3 cup peach juice
  • granola to top
  • fresh peach to top

First, blend together the frozen banana, frozen peaches, and peach juice until smooth. The less juice you put the thicker the smoothie will be, but if your blender is struggling just add another dash of juice. Next, scoop mixture out of the blender and place it in a bowl. Top with granola and sliced fresh peach. It is seriously that simple. Enjoy!

Tips: If you aren’t a fan of smoothie bowls and would prefer to drink your smoothie just use fresh bananas. If you don’t have a Trader Joe’s near you I think any peach nectar would work perfectly. Alternatively, any juice would taste great, but it will take away from the peach flavor if it isn’t peach juice. For toppings I’m a huge fan of Engine 2 Blueberry Vanilla Granola, but any granola would taste good. You can even make your own granola really easily. Sometimes I add protein powder to this smoothie and I don’t find it alters the taste that much so add any unflavored or vanilla protein powder if you’d like.

I’ve Lost It: Move It or Lose It 3 | Jordanna Harris

This is the final installment of my moving vlogs and I have definitely lost the will to live at this point. The exhaustion levels were high, and my little kitties were absolutely freaking out. That being said, I still managed to do a ton of unpacking and said a final goodbye to my last apartment. Please let me know if you’d like to see a finished house tour and I’ll definitely film it.

Cherryvale Farms Peanut Butter Cookie Mix

I was rather excited about this cookie mix because I love baking but I don’t do it very often because of the time commitment. This was super easy and quick to make. More importantly, they taste delicious. I will be honest, I almost totally ruined the first batch because I didn’t flatten them before putting them into the oven, but I realized in time and managed to fix them. The cookies came out super fluffy, sweet, and very peanut buttery. I’m very tempted to try their other mixes because they are all vegan. If they are all as easy and tasty as the Peanut Butter Cookie Mix then they are all winners.

Sunwarrior illumin8 Plant-Based Organic Meal

I hated this. I took one sip and instantly didn’t like it. I tried the Aztec Chocolate flavor and it was weirdly cinnamon heavy and just not right in my opinion. I had Alan taste it and he loved it. He said it tasted just like Abuelita Chocolate and happily drank the rest of the cup. It really depends on your taste whether or not you’ll enjoy this. The package recommended that you mix the powder with your favorite beverage (I used almond milk) and put it in the fridge to enjoy later when cold. I did this and it thickened really nicely so I think I would enjoy this in a different flavor, but the Aztec Chocolate flavor just isn’t for me.
