Jordanna: Real Food Daily is one of my favorite vegan restaurants. I live within walking distance of the Pasadena location, so I go there possibly too often. One of my favorite dishes from them is the Not-Chos. I mean let’s be real: everyone should love nachos. Especially when they are vegan and super delicious. The nachos just have the right amount of creamy cheese, chips, beans and guacamole. I say skip the taco mix unless you really like faux meat. Go there and try them!
Gavrielle: Real Food Daily is a vegan restaurant that I always forget is an option. Every time I’ve gone there has been with Jordanna. I will break that cycle and start treating myself to the glorious food on my own soon. These Nachos as Jordanna has explained are a staple. My mouth is literally watering looking at the photo of them. Photos that are in fact completely unedited. Thats how amazing this food is. Go forth food bloggers and enjoy.
Jordanna: The drinks are fantastic. I really love their smoothies and their lemonade. This day we had an extremely late lunch and I was ravenous so I opted for an Antioxidant smoothie made with Açai, strawberries, blueberries, banana, and coconut water. Basically, it is pure joy. The coconut water makes it lighter than a smoothie with almond milk in it. The smoothie is very refreshing and also filling. As we progress you will soon learn we ordered too much food.
Gavrielle: Ignore the fact that the nachos are in focus and the smoothies aren’t. Damned amazing nachos always trying to steal the show. I love a good green smoothie. I have never been a big fan of green juices but something about the texture and chill of a good green smoothie is bliss to me. I went for the Super Green smoothie which, is spirulina, kale, chia seeds, and almond milk. It’s a pretty filling drink but equally refreshing. If you want to save room for dessert maybe opt for a lemonade or water.
Gavrielle: For my main meal I ordered the Yakisoba which is Japanese stir fried soba noodles with snap peas, broccoli, carrots, napa cabbage, peppers, ginger tamari sauce, miso glaze, tempeh, pickled cabbage, sesame, and scallion. It was very good though a little light on the noodles for this carb lover. I wish I had had room to enjoy it but I was completely full after about two bites. Damn delicious nachos. I took it home and enjoyed the leftovers.
Jordanna: I decided to order the Supreme Burrito as a bowl. I really don’t know why I always have burrito bowls, but it is seriously my go-to lunch. I make them at home and order them when going out. So predictable. I’ve had the supreme burrito multiple times and it is honestly better as a bowl. It contains: Black beans, brown rice, guacamole, cashew cheese, tempeh bacon, caramelized onions, cashew sour cream, and pico de gallo. I ordered it without caramelized onions because onions are gross, but you do you. I could only eat about half of this because I was so full, but all in all it’s a very yummy burrito bowl. Trust me, I’ve sampled them all.
Jordanna: Okay this wasn’t from the same time or in the same location, but Real Food Daily do the best vegan pie. Gavrielle and I both intended on getting dessert, but neither one of us actually finished our meals and we were way too stuffed for any pie. This is their Seasonal Fruit Pie. The last few times that I have been to Real Food Daily it has been a cherry pie served with vanilla ice cream. I love pie and fruit and ice cream and Real Food Daily. I have no words for how good this pie was. Just do yourself a favor and go eat it.
Gavrielle: How dare you! I want pie. Why don’t I get pie?
