I want to start doing monthly favorites so I’ve been trying a bunch of new products in May. These are all of the things that I’m loving. Like any beauty that I talk about all of these products are cruelty free and most of them are vegan.
It is rare that I find a magazine that I actually want to read, but Darling Magazine is way more than just a magazine. It is geared specifically to empowering women. They pride themselves on not photoshopping any of the women who appear in it. Most magazines make women feel horrible because they are all about how to lose weight, look good for a guy, do something men like in bed, and generally about tearing woman down as opposed to building them up. All the articles are written by women talking about an array of different experiences and subjects. It is a wonderful magazine and definitely worth reading.
365 Organic Pea Protein
I mentioned this protein powder in one of my vlogs (you should watch it). I found it a real struggle finding a vegan protein powder that didn’t taste like sand. I also don’t like eating a bunch of chemicals and sugars so I wasn’t happy with any protein powders. I found this at Whole Foods and was so surprised that it has just one ingredient and doesn’t taste horrible.
Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Rosewater mask
I love this face mask so much! I use it once or twice a week. I’ve been concentrating on hydrating my skin because it is so dry; this mask is super hydrating and soothing. I also love the rose scent. It’s a very pleasant mask to wear because it smells amazing, and it doesn’t get tight on your skin. I really love all of Andalou Naturals face masks that I’ve tried. They have single use cream, and sheet masks and as well as pots of some of their masks. The rosewater mask is by far my favorite.
Pixi Glow Tonic
I know this is a very hyped cult product, but I now know why it’s so popular. It is honestly great. This tonic is a chemical exfoliant that actually works. I find it annoying to exfoliate with a scrub, and because I find it so annoying, I don’t do it often enough. This allows me to exfoliate without rubbing little beads all over my face. I just pour a little tonic on a cotton round and swipe it over my face. It definitely works and it makes it super easy for me to keep up with my skincare.
John Masters Organics Lavender & Avocado Intensive Conditioner
This is the best conditioner I’ve ever tried, and that is saying something because I’ve tried a lot of conditioners. As the name would imply, this is an intensive conditioner that is formulated for damaged hair. Since I’ve bleached my hair I’ve continuously dyed it. My hair is dry and damaged and needs some serious conditioning. My only issue with this conditioner is it’s too heavy for me to put on my scalp. This leads to my next favorite though so I can’t fault the conditioner. This product is cruelty free, but not completely vegan.
Pacifica Coconut Power Strong and Long Healing Conditioner
I love the smell of this conditioner because it has just the right hint of coconut without being overwhelming. I also really like to try different Pacifica products because they are a vegan brand. I use this with the John Masters Organics conditioner, which I put on the ends and the lengths of my hair. I use the Pacifica conditioner on my roots because it makes them silky soft without making it greasy.
I really wasn’t interested in Riverdale when I saw ads for it on TV. I didn’t have anything else to watch so I saw the whole first season on Netflix. I was really surprised how much I enjoyed the show. It reminds me of Pretty Little Liars, but without all the bullshit plot holes. The seasons is focused on figuring out who killed a local teenager in the small town of Riverdale. Obviously everyone is a suspect. The show is based on the Archie comic books, which didn’t matter to me because I’m unfamiliar with them. I really like murder mysteries so I enjoyed that aspect. The only thing I found annoying was all the teenage drama, but that is to be expected with this kind of show. It was a good watch. More importantly it was fun trying to figure out who actually murdered the kid.
